Tangofy opens in your browser and works with the music already on your computer, plus Spotify if you like. The path is always the same:

Consigliamo Chrome o Edge sul computer: sono i browser che permettono di ricordare le cartelle e di mandare il pre‑ascolto in cuffia.

We recommend Chrome or Edge on a computer: they are the browsers that can remember your folders and send the pre‑listen to headphones.

SessioniSessions

Una sessione è un contenitore: tiene insieme la libreria, le tande e le playlist. Puoi usarne una per tutto, oppure una per ogni evento ("Milonga del sabato", "Festival 2026", "Práctica").

A session is a container: it keeps a library, its tandas and its playlists together. Use one for everything, or one per event ("Saturday Milonga", "Festival 2026", "Práctica").

La sessione attiva si vede in basso a sinistra, nella barra laterale: da lì ne crei una nuova o passi a un'altra.

The active session sits at the bottom left of the sidebar: from there you create a new one or switch to another.

Importare la musicaImporting music

1. Apri la Libreria e premi Import.
2. Scegli la cartella con la tua musica di tango. Tangofy legge anche le sottocartelle.
3. I brani compaiono con titolo, orchestra, cantanti, anno e copertina, letti dai tag dei file.

1. Open the Library and press Import.
2. Choose the folder with your tango music. Tangofy reads its subfolders too.
3. Tracks appear with title, orchestra, singers, year and cover art, read from the files' tags.

Formati supportati: MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, WAV e OGG. Gli orchestrali scritti in mille modi ("Orq. Típica", "y su Orquesta", "con…") vengono riconosciuti senza modificare i tuoi file. Se qualcosa non torna, usa Edit track sulla riga del brano.

Supported formats: MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, WAV and OGG. Orchestras spelled a thousand ways ("Orq. Típica", "y su Orquesta", "con…") are recognised without changing your files. If something is off, use Edit track on the track's row.

Le cortine

Cortinas

Le cortine hanno una libreria a parte: nella Libreria passa da Tango Tracks a Cortinas e importa la loro cartella. Così il generatore sa cosa mettere tra una tanda e l'altra.

Cortinas have a library of their own: in the Library switch from Tango Tracks to Cortinas and import their folder. That way the generator knows what to put between tandas.

Spotify

Spotify

Collegando Spotify puoi cercare e importare brani nella stessa libreria, accanto ai tuoi file. Per suonarli per intero serve un account Spotify Premium.

Once Spotify is connected you can search and import tracks into the same library, next to your files. Playing them in full needs Spotify Premium.

La musica resta sempre prontaYour music stays ready

Tangofy non copia e non carica online i tuoi file audio. Quando importi una cartella salva solo un "indice": le informazioni di ogni brano e dove si trova sul computer. L'indice resta nel browser (e nel tuo account, se lo usi), quindi non devi mai reimportare la musica.

Tangofy does not copy or upload your audio files. When you import a folder it only saves an "index": each track's information and where it sits on your computer. The index stays in your browser (and in your account, if you use one), so you never have to import your music again.

Dopo aver chiuso o ricaricato la pagina

After closing or reloading the page

Per sicurezza il browser, a ogni ricaricamento, blocca di nuovo l'accesso alle cartelle. Tangofy le riattiva tutte insieme al primo clic che fai nella pagina: niente da scegliere, niente da reimportare.

For safety, the browser locks folder access again on every reload. Tangofy turns them all back on at your first click on the page: nothing to pick, nothing to re-import.

Per non sentirtelo più chiedere: quando Chrome o Edge mostrano la richiesta, scegli Consenti a ogni visita. Da quel momento la musica è pronta appena apri Tangofy.

To stop being asked: when Chrome or Edge show the prompt, choose Allow on every visit. From then on your music is ready as soon as you open Tangofy.

Sul computer della milonga

On the milonga computer

Se usi Tangofy installato sul tuo computer (versione locale), è il computer stesso a trovare le cartelle: i brani partono subito, senza nessuna richiesta, anche dopo un riavvio.

If you run Tangofy installed on your own computer (local version), the computer itself finds the folders: tracks play straight away, with no prompt at all, even after a restart.

Se sposti la musica

If you move your music

Se rinomini o sposti la cartella, Tangofy non la trova più: importala di nuovo dalla nuova posizione. Le tue tande e playlist restano.

If you rename or move the folder, Tangofy can no longer find it: import it again from its new place. Your tandas and playlists stay.

Tande e generatoreTandas and generator

Puoi comporre le tande a mano oppure lasciare che sia il Generatore a preparare la serata. Le tande automatiche seguono le regole del musicalizador:

You can build tandas by hand or let the Generator prepare the night. Automatic tandas follow the tango DJ's rules:

• una sola orchestra per tanda, con gli stessi cantanti;
• mai brani strumentali mescolati a brani cantati;
• registrazioni dello stesso periodo.

• one orchestra per tanda, with the same singers;
• never instrumental tracks mixed with sung ones;
• recordings from the same period.

Nel Generatore scegli la durata, lo schema (Tradizionale: Tango, Tango, Vals, Tango, Tango, Milonga), 3 o 4 brani per tanda di tango, la fonte, le orchestre e il decennio. Spunta Cortinas per inserirne una tra ogni tanda, premi Generate e poi Save as Playlist.

In the Generator choose the length, the pattern (Traditional: Tango, Tango, Vals, Tango, Tango, Milonga), 3 or 4 tracks per tango tanda, the source, the orchestras and the decade. Tick Cortinas to put one between every tanda, press Generate and then Save as Playlist.

Suonare la milongaPlaying the milonga

Apri la playlist e premi Play. Le tande scorrono una dopo l'altra, con la cortina in mezzo. Puoi spostarle, modificarle o suonarne una in particolare mentre la serata va avanti.

Open the playlist and press Play. Tandas run one after the other, with the cortina in between. You can move them, edit them or play a specific one while the night goes on.

Room-ready sound

In Settings › Audio trovi le regole tra un brano e l'altro:

In Settings › Audio you will find the rules between tracks:

• Volume uniforme: Tangofy misura ogni brano una volta sola e abbassa quelli più forti, così una registrazione del 1935 e un remaster moderno suonano allo stesso livello.
• Silenzi tagliati: i brani partono dove inizia la musica e finiscono dove finisce.
• Pause: quanti secondi tra i brani di una tanda e dopo la cortina.
• Durata della cortina: dopo quanti secondi la cortina sfuma e si ferma.

• Even volume: Tangofy measures each track once and turns the louder ones down, so a 1935 recording and a modern remaster play at the same level.
• Silence trimmed: tracks start where the music starts and end where it ends.
• Pauses: how many seconds between the tracks of a tanda and after the cortina.
• Cortina length: after how many seconds the cortina fades out and stops.

Ogni brano suonato finisce nello storico (pulsante History nelle Playlist), raggruppato per serata.

Every track played goes into the history (History button in Playlists), grouped by night.

Pre‑ascolto in cuffiaHeadphone pre‑listen

1. Collega le cuffie al computer (o una scheda audio con due uscite).
2. In Settings › Audio premi Detect devices: il browser chiede il microfono solo per mostrare i nomi delle uscite, e Tangofy lo chiude subito.
3. Scegli dove suona la milonga e dove il pre‑ascolto, poi attiva Pre‑listen in headphones.
4. Accanto a ogni brano compare il pulsante con le cuffie: lo ascolti tu, la sala no.

1. Plug your headphones into the computer (or use an audio interface with two outputs).
2. In Settings › Audio press Detect devices: the browser asks for the microphone only to show the outputs' names, and Tangofy closes it at once.
3. Choose where the milonga plays and where the pre‑listen goes, then turn on Pre‑listen in headphones.
4. A headphones button appears next to every track: you hear it, the room doesn't.

Schermo balleriniDancer display

Dalla barra del player apri lo schermo ballerini in una seconda finestra e spostala sul proiettore o sulla TV della sala. Mostra il genere della tanda, il brano e l'orchestra in corso, a che punto della tanda siamo e qual è la prossima, con un giradischi che gira.

From the player bar, open the dancer display in a second window and move it to the venue's projector or TV. It shows the genre of the tanda, the track and orchestra playing, where we are in the tanda and what comes next, with a spinning turntable.

Fai doppio clic o premi F per lo schermo intero. Si aggiorna da solo: non devi toccarlo durante la serata.

Double-click or press F for full screen. It updates on its own: you never need to touch it during the night.

Account, sincronizzazione e backupAccount, sync and backup

Senza account tutto resta nel browser di quel computer. Con un account, sessioni, playlist e preferenze si sincronizzano da sole: le ritrovi su un altro computer accedendo con lo stesso account. Su ogni computer la musica va importata una volta, dalla sua cartella.

Without an account everything stays in that computer's browser. With an account, sessions, playlists and preferences sync on their own: sign in on another computer and they are there. On each computer you import the music once, from its folder.

In Settings › Data puoi anche scaricare un backup: un unico file con tutte le tue serate e impostazioni, senza l'audio. Tienilo al sicuro, ti serve se cambi computer o svuoti il browser.

In Settings › Data you can also download a backup: a single file with all your nights and settings, without the audio. Keep it safe: it is what you need if you change computer or clear your browser.

Svuotare i dati del browser cancella anche la libreria di Tangofy. Con un account o un backup la recuperi in un attimo.

Clearing your browser data also clears Tangofy's library. With an account or a backup you get it back in a moment.

Un brano non parte

A track won't play

Di solito la cartella è stata spostata o il disco esterno non è collegato. Ricollegalo, oppure importa di nuovo la cartella.

Usually the folder has moved or the external drive is unplugged. Plug it back in, or import the folder again.

Orchestra o anno sbagliati

Wrong orchestra or year

Dipende dai tag del file. Correggili con Edit track: la modifica vale solo dentro Tangofy, i file restano come sono.

It comes from the file's tags. Fix them with Edit track: the change applies inside Tangofy only, your files stay as they are.

Non vedo le cuffie tra le uscite

My headphones aren't listed

Collegale prima di premere Detect devices e usa Chrome o Edge: gli altri browser non permettono di scegliere l'uscita audio.

Plug them in before pressing Detect devices and use Chrome or Edge: other browsers don't let a page choose the audio output.

Prima della serata

Before the night

• Suona qualche secondo di ogni tanda: Tangofy misura il volume dei brani la prima volta che li incontra.
• Tieni il computer in carica e disattiva sospensione e notifiche.
• Scarica un backup aggiornato.

• Play a few seconds of each tanda: Tangofy measures a track's loudness the first time it meets it.
• Keep the computer plugged in and turn off sleep and notifications.
• Download an up-to-date backup.
